City Council Summaries

St. Thomas city council decides how millions of dollars of public money get spent, what gets built and where, and which bylaws shape daily life in the city. Those decisions are public, but they arrive as long agendas and staff reports that most residents never have time to read.

This archive keeps a permanent, plain language record of them. Each month has its own page, and each page grows through the month as council meets and the city publishes its Keeping Track highlights document. Older months stay online, so you can look back at what was decided and when.

Every summary sets out what council actually decided and what it means for residents. Where a decision involves money, we say how much. Where it affects a road, a service or a neighbourhood, we say which one. Summaries are written from the city's own documents and are reviewed, edited, and approved by our editor before they appear here.

Council meets in the Council Chambers at City Hall, and meetings are open to the public. Full agendas, staff reports and minutes are published on the City of St. Thomas website.
